Samedi 12 octobre dernier se sont tenus à Montataire notre Assemblée Générale (38 membres présents ou représentés) et notre 20ème soirée népalaise en présence de quelques 150 membres et amis de l’Association.
Cette soirée était exceptionnelle à plusieurs titres.
Nous fêtions le 25ème anniversaire de l’Association.
Notre ami Kanchha Sherpa, co-fondateur avec Jean-Pierre et président d’honneur de l’Association, nous a fait la surprise et l’immense plaisir de se joindre à nous.
Les points suivants ont été développés lors de notre AG:
– Rapport moral et financier : présentation des événements marquants intervenus depuis notre précédente assemblée et plus particulièrement, avancement du projet de partenariat avec le Rotary International pour la reconstruction du Collège de Nunthala (le dossier est en cours de finalisation et doit être impérativement déposé au Rotary avant la fin de l’année);
– La présence de Kanchha Sherpa a été l’occasion de rappeler l’implication de deux familles dans tous les projets menés par l’Association en lien étroit avec Jean-Pierre, la famille Kanchha Sherpa et la famille Gelzen Sherpa. Kanchha a ainsi laissé de côté sa carrière pour aider son village et sa région. Malgré son départ précipité pour les Etats-Unis en 2003 où il a obtenu le statut de réfugié politique, Kanchha est toujours resté fidèle aux siens et à Népal et Vous. Depuis, il a pu retourner librement au Népal et constater dans les villages les progrès réalisés et les besoins des
habitants. Sa présence prouve qu’il est toujours à nos côtés. Il nous a d’ailleurs réaffirmés son soutien pour faire avancer les projets de l’Association.
– Approbation des comptes de l’exercice clos le 31 décembre 2018.
A la suite de l’Assemblée Générale, nous avons déclaré ouverte notre soirée en présence de Monsieur Khadga Prasad DAHAL (Attaché d’Ambassade du Népal à Paris) et Monsieur Jean-Pierre BOSINO (Maire de Montataire) avec au programme :
– Exposition et vente d’artisanat népalais;
– Exposition de photos et diaporama des réalisations de l’Association;
– Tombola dotée de très beaux lots d’artisanat népalais;
– Animation musicale et danses tibétaines par le groupe Norling qui nous a accompagné et enchantés jusqu’en fin de soirée.
Nous avons pu échanger et mesurer le chemin parcouru tous ensembles depuis 25 ans avec notre guide Jean-Pierre, si passionné et fidèle au peuple du Solukhumbu jusqu’au bout de ses forces et toujours si présent dans nos cœurs.
Kaji Sherpa et son équipe nous avaient préparés un excellent Dal Bhat que nous avons partagé dans une ambiance très conviviale.
Enfin, nous tenons à remercier vivement Monsieur l’Attaché d’Ambassade et Monsieur le Maire pour leur présence, les participants, tous les bénévoles qui ont œuvré pour la réussite de cette soirée et la municipalité de Montataire qui met à notre disposition son Espace de Rencontres et tout le matériel de cuisine nécessaire.

Népal et Vous celebrate its 25th anniversary !
Last Saturday October 12th, we held our General Assembly at Montataire (38 members present or represented) and our 20th Nepali diner in the presence of some 150 members and friends of the Association.
This event was exceptional in many ways.
We celebrated the 25th anniversary of the Association.
Our friend Kanchha Sherpa, co-founder with Jean-Pierre and Honorary President of the Association, made us the surprise and the great pleasure to join us.
The following points were developed during our GA:
– Moral and financial report: presentation of the milestones since our last meeting and more particularly, progress of the partnership project with Rotary International for the reconstruction of the Nunthala College (the file is being finalized and must be submitted to Rotary before the end of the year);
– The presence of Kanchha Sherpa was an opportunity to recall the involvement of two families in all the projects led by the Association in close connection with Jean-Pierre, the Kanchha Sherpa family and the Gelzen Sherpa family. Kanchha has thus left aside his career to help his village and region. Despite his precipitous departure for the United States in 2003 where he obtain political refugee status, Kanchha has always remained faithful to his people and to « Nepal et Vous ». Since then, he has been able to return freely to Nepal and to see in the villages the progress made and the needs of the inhabitants. His presence proves that he is always at our side. He has also reaffirmed his support for advancing the projects of the Association.
– Approval of the financial statements for the year ended December 31, 2018.
Following the General Assembly, we declared our reception open in the presence of Mr. Khadga Prasad DAHAL (Nepal Embassy Attaché in Paris) and Mr. Jean-Pierre BOSINO (Mayor of Montataire) with for program:
– Exhibition and sale of Nepali handicrafts;
– Exhibition of photos and slide show of the achievements of the Association;
– Tombola with beautiful Nepalese handicrafts;
– Tibetan musical entertainment and dances by the group Norling who accompanied and delighted us until the end of the diner.
We were able to share and measure the progress we have made together for 25 years with our guide Jean-Pierre, so passionate and faithful to the people of Solukhumbu to the end of his strength and always so present in our hearts.
Kaji Sherpa and his team had prepared an excellent Dal Bhat that we shared in a very friendly atmosphere.
Finally, we would like to warmly thank the Embassy Attaché and the Mayor for their presence, the participants, all the volunteers who have worked for the success of this reception and the municipality of Montataire which puts at our disposal its space of meetings and all the necessary kitchen equipment.
